Last year I flew to Thailand to get away from an extremely toxic friendship. Flying across the ocean was one of the best things I could have done for my heart. The last few days of our trip we went to these gorgeous Islands & I got the courage to post a pic of me in a swimsuit on one of the beaches. I’m definitely not a size 2 and I never have been, so posting that picture was hard but also very liberating. In that moment I felt so much freedom, joy & love for myself. I almost didn’t post that picture because I kept thinking about all of the other bloggers that had posted pictures on that beach & how different I look compared to them. I have this love/hate relationship with social media. I love that i’ve met some of my best friends online & how i’m constantly inspired by people all over the world. Then there are the days when I can’t top comparing myself to all of the amazing bloggers I come across. I’ve learned to get inspired & challenged in the best way from all of the amazing girls i’ve met online instead of comparing to everyone else. Body confidence is something that everyone struggles with at times. Focusing on the parts of you that you love instead of what you wish you could change is very liberating.
I love that there are brands like Asos, Aerie & Swimsuits for all that cater to all body types. There are also the cutest coverups for those days when you’re feeling less confident or maybe skipped the smoothie & had tacos for lunch. Don’t let little insecurities stop you from going to that beach, rocking that swimsuit & embracing who you are.
What i’m wearing//
I’ve been on the hunt for a pink suit for awhile and finally found one that i’m obsessed with! The color is vibrant, fun and it’s one of those outfits that makes a major statement. I plan on wearing the pieces together & separately throughout the year. The best part about this suit is its under $75!
Throwing on an oversized sweatshirt with some ripped up jeans is all I ever want to wear. Guys seriously have some of the comfiest sweaters! Every once in awhile you can find me shopping the guys section just to have a comfy sweatshirt to throw on while I run errands. Theres nothing wrong with purchasing one for your man for Christmas with the intentions of wearing it yourself. 😉 I’ve linked some of my favorite mens sweaters for you.
Every girl should have a dress hanging in their closet that makes them feel amazing in their own skin. Most girls have the perfect little LBD but I recently added the perfect pink, lace dress to my wardrobe. I knew the second I put it on that I would wear this dress on several occasions. Its perfect for holiday parties, date nights or a fun GNO. Not only do I feel amazing in this dress but I’m constantly getting compliments when I wear it. It also comes in black so i’m very tempted to purchase that color as well.
I love a good leather jacket! I’m not a fan of cold weather but I do get excited to throw on a good jacket when the weather starts cooling down. I purchased this black jacket a couple of years ago from Michael Kors and its definitely my go to. I love pairing it with dresses, or jeans & a t-shirt. One of my favorite ways to find a good leather jacket is to hunt through vintage/thrift stores. Thats the best way to find a leather jacket that has the softest, worn leather and you won’t see every other girl in your town wearing it.
P.s. Dying over Who What Wears collections at Target. They have the chicest pieces with the best prices. This one comes in a few different colors and I want them all!
